On Friday, May 20, following the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan Prime Minister Karim Massimov made a statement to the press.

Karim Massimov admitted that at the meeting they discussed a number of important questions in the run up to a meeting of Heads of State of EAEC member-states which to be held on May 31 in Astana.

In particular, at the level of Heads of Government was agreed a project of Concept of formation of EAEC common markets of oil and petroleum products.

"I consider that it is one of the cornerstones documents, which has been discussed for a long time," Karim Massimov said.

In addition, the Council considered questions and terms of acceptance of the EAEC Customs Code.

"Today it was decided that on the two forthcoming Councils to be held on August 12 in Sochi, and on October 28 in Minsk, we will try to complete the project of the Customs Code and other documents that are important to further development," Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.

Summarizing the meeting, Karim Massimov noted that today's meeting was held in the mode of constructive dialogue, and expressed confidence in the progressive development of EAEC.

On Friday, May 20, in Yerevan, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov took part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, chaired by the Kazakhstan side.

The heads of government discussed the most urgent issues and prospects of development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC). Particular attention was paid to the issues on expansion economic and trade relations EAEC states.

Speaking at the meeting, Karim Massimov reminded that as a priority of its chairmanship Kazakhstan proposed to declare 2016 "The year of deepening the Eurasian Economic Union's economic relations with third countries and key integration associations".

"Kazakhstan has always been a supporter of attracting new members to the"orbit" of Eurasian integration. Our Union is formed as an open economic community. At the meantime, we need to put emphasis on cooperation with technologically developed and investment-attractive countries and unions,” K. Massimov said.

According to him, cooperation between EAEC and the European Union could be an important factor of the economic development of the continent in general.

"The long-term aim of cooperation between EAEC and the EU should become establishment of a common economic space from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This was repeatedly told by our President N.Nazarbayev and President of Russia V.Putin," he stressed.

"Therefore, the Kazakh side considers integration processes as an opportunity for our countries to become a" connecting link"between the East and the West, competitive part of the world economy, - Karim Masimov summed up.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov held a meeting with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov in Yerevan.

During the talks the parties discussed the current issues and prospects of cooperation in trade, economy, transport and logistics, financial and other fields.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan congratulated a Kyrgyz counterpart on his appointment and wished success in his work.

Karim Massimov noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of economic relations with Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope for the continuation of the work directed at progressive deepening of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.

Besides, Karim Massimov took part in the collective meeting of Heads of Government of EAEC member-states with the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

Today at the Ukimet Uiy, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has held a meeting with the business delegation of Spain.

During the meeting the sides have exchanged views on further strengthening of bilateral Kazakh-Spanish relations in the industrial, trade, economic and investment spheres.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev has stressed that Spain was an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in Europe and has invited Spanish businessmen to actively explore the market of Kazakhstan. First Deputy Prime Minister has expressed interest in the implementation of joint projects in Kazakhstan, including the use of public private partnership mechanism.

The sides have emphasized the high level of bilateral cooperation and considerable potential for expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by representatives of such companies as Talgo, Airbus Defense & Space, Eptisa, Ineco, Eurofinsa and others.

Today at the Ukimet Uiy,Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has held a meeting with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain José Manuel García-Margallo, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.

The participants of the meeting have discussed the state of trade and economic relations between the two countries and have noticed the prospects of investment cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure, agriculture, engineering, and construction.

The sides also expressed confidence that the established Kazakh-Spanish Business Council would contribute to the intensification of bilateral business partnership.

Today Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov has taken part in the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow.

The Heads of Government have considered a number of issues of current importance and prospects for the development of the Eurasian Economic Unit (EEU)

Delivering the speech at the press conference following the meeting, Karim Massimov mentioned that Kazakhstan chaired in the EEU bodies this year.

“At the suggestion of Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council resident of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev the year of 2016 is declared “Year of deepening economic relations the Union with third countries and key integration organizations,” Karim Massimov said.

According to Chairman of the Board of EEC Tigran Sargsyan, the frames of the cooperation of the EEU with the European Union and China were clearly identified during the meeting

Tigran Sargsyan stressed that the fundamentally important result of the meeting was the agreement of the Heads of the Governments to arrange joint meetings discuss current areas of cooperation.

Following the results of the meeting the number of documents was signed. In particular, the decisions on the creation of the Eurasian engineering center of machine tool, on the approval of the Regulation on the organization and operation of Eurasian technology platforms, on the Concept of creation of common markets of oil and petroleum products and other decisions have taken.

Today at the Ukimet Uiy the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Karim Massimov has held the session in the selector mode. During the session, the issues of flood situation, measure taken to prevent flood, as well as preparation for spring field works have been considered.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs Kalmukhanbet Kassymov, the current flood situation complicates life activities of 43 urban areas in four regions of the country, about 535 houses are in flood, 190 areas of roads of the length of 20 kilometers are washed way, 2 bridges are destroyed.

As reported by the minister, more than 4000 people, 1140 units of equipment, and 259 water drainage units are involved in the rescue operations to eliminate natural disaster and accident consequences. Due to taken measures, 471 houses are released from flood, 500 people get back home.

Currently the Ministry of Internal Affairs is tasked to eliminate damages, perform emergency rescue operations in flooded areas, organize continuous monitoring of levels of rivers, keep necessary equipment at the level of direct action and control continuously the state of hydraulic engineering installations.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Yerlan Nysanbayev reported on the preparation for spring field works. According to preliminary data, it is planned to increase agriculture cultivation areas up to 21.6 million hectares in 2016 that is 400 thousand hectares more compared with the same period in 2015. 15.2 million hectares will be cropped.

Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev performed the information on the volume of oil products provided for agricultural producers. According to the minister, the available stock of diesel fuel supplies the need of manufactures of agricultural products which amounted to 366.8 thousand tons.

Following the meeting, Karim Massimov instructed the members of the Government to keep the flood situation under control and ensure the non-stop conduct of sowing activity.

Today the meeting of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov and US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz has been held in the Ukimet Uiy.

The sides have discussed a wide range of issues of current importance in the field of nuclear energy, oil and gas, energy efficiency and alternative energy development.

K. Massimov has congratulated Mr. Ernest Moniz on the successful conduction of the Nuclear Security Summit and has emphasized the solidarity of goals of the two counties in this area. The Prime Minister also expressed confidence in further fruitful activity of the Kazakh-American special commission on energy partnership which meeting was held the day before.

In turn, Mr. Ernest Moniz has appreciated the contribution of Kazakhstan to nuclear non-proliferation and its important role during the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program.

Following the meeting, Karim Massimov and Mr. Ernest Moniz have called for further strengthening of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Today in the Ukimet Uiy First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has held a meeting on the development of domestic airports.

Nowadays, there are 20 airports in the country including 12 state airports (8 of them are in confidential management of «Airport Management Group» LLP), 6 airports are in private ownership, 2 airports are under the licence to operate.

The airports served about 12 million passengers in 2015. International operations are being carried out on 87 routes. They are performed by 2 Kazakhstani airline companies (“Air Astana” and “Scat”) and foreign air carriers. Domestic flights are carried out by six Kazakhstani airlines on 42 routes.

The reconstruction of 13 airports in Kazakhstan was conducted at the expense of the republican budget amounted to 97 billion tenge. In addition, the construction of the passenger terminal of the Astana airport in the framework of the State Program “Nurly Zhol" was stared in January 2015.

At the end of the meeting Bakytzhan Sagintayev instructed the responsible state authorities and management of airports to focus on airport security, in particular, to establish the modern screening equipment in the passenger terminals. The strong attention should be paid to equipping of specialized vehicles (fire fighting machines, snow removal and deicing equipment, ladders).

In addition, First Deputy Prime Minister instructed to take measures to increase the economic efficiency of airport operations, increase the level of management, search for new sources of funds for development.

Today in the Ukimet Uiy First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on the incident at the airport of Astana with the aircraft of “Bek Air” airlines.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Development, the Main transport prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the National Security Committee.

The Ministry of Investment and Development created a special commission to investigate the incident with the participation of representatives of the manufacturing factory and independent experts.

Following the results of the meeting, Bakytzhan Sagintayev assigned to take prophylactic measures in order to prevent such aircraft accident.

The Civil Aviation Committee and interested government agencies were instructed to develop the action plan to improve security of flights of the “Bek Air” JSC.

In addition, the unannounced inspection of the airline company had been begun on March 29.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of “Bek Air” JSC Nurlan Zhumasultanov said that the airline will soon begin to undergo the international aviation audit IOSA.

The aircraft “Fokker 100” of “Bek Air” airlines performing flight №2041 of “Kyzylorda-Astana” way made the emergency landing on March 27, 2016 at 10.36 at the airport of Astana. About 121 people including 116 passengers and 5 crew members were on board. There were not any injured passengers during the incident. The preliminary cause of the accident is the breakage of the nose landing gear.
